Salvelinus alpinus or Arctic Char is a cold-water fish in the family Salmonidae, native to alpine lakes, as well as Arctic and subarctic coastal waters. It is an excellent streamer pattern to catch brown trout in alpine lakes as well as sea-run trout in the arctic waters.
